Head Compounding Pharmacist, Mark Horst, graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1977 with a bachelor of science in pharmacy. He then practiced pharmacy at Brockett’s in Jackson, Missouri for two years. Mark decided to go back to graduate school at the University of Oklahoma where he earned a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Upon graduation from the OUHSC, Dr. Horst went on to research pharmacology at Vanderbilt University Medical School for two-and-a-half years. Mark moved to Farmington, Missouri and began working at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center for 22 years where he was a staff pharmacist. He worked closely with psychiatric patients determining appropriate pharmaceutical therapies, Mark also taught nursing students actions and side affects of psychiatric medications.
Steve Horst was glad to invite his brother, Mark to work with him in 2009. Mark is now in charge of compounding medications to meet the unique needs of our patients!
